Herb considers himself luckiest guy in the world to be able to captain one of the greatest rock stations in the USA! That's why the call him "The Captain," right? He's been on the Blimp for over 30 years, and no two days have ever been the same. He calls Blimp listeners “friends I’ve never met,” and it’s true as they share a common bond of living in Maine and a passion for Rock and Roll. He also enjoys working with so many local charities and businesses as well. He's wicked proud to represent Townsquare Media as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Broadcasters and as a board member of NESCom at Husson University.

We Are 100% OK With Mainers Shopping For Halloween Decorations in July
Happy Halloween! OK, I know you still have leftovers in your refrigerator from the 4th of July, but Maine, it seems, is ready for the next big holiday. 102 days away. I guess we are just going to jump right over Labor Day and Indigenous People's Day this year. And hey, we get it. The fact that we had no Halloween to speak of in 2020 was a massive bummer. We know that for many of you, Halloween is your ChristmasNewYears4thofJulyBirthdayArborDaySuperBowl all rolled into one. So this year, it would make sense that you would start shopping for Halloween stuff in JULY.
Maine’s Bob Marley Friggin’ Roasts The Jeff Bezos Spaceshot
Our great friend Bob Marley had us absolutely rolling in the studios today when we saw this video of him talking about the Jeff Bezos trip to "outta space" Now, Bobby makes fun of everybody (including us) so don't get all upset if you're a big Bezos or Amazon fan. Bob made some good points in this short video. It's 4 minutes or so....about the length of the entire Bezos flight!
What Do The Bezos Spaceship and This Giant Rocket in New Hampshire Have in Common?
If you travel to Warren, New Hampshire, you won't be able to miss the gigantic rocket in the middle of the town square. This 8-ton Redstone rocket was given to the town in 1971 when the U.S. government discontinued its mission. Some towns have nice Civil War cannons in the square, but Warren has a REAL showstopper!
This rocket in Warren has a wonderful connection to the Jeff Bezos rocket that lifted off today in the Texas desert to make space travel history.
Red Sox Superstars That Have Done Rehab Stints With the Portland Sea Dogs
With Red Sox pitching ace Chris Sale scheduled to pitch at Hadlock Field on Tuesday, we went back to the Sea Dog archives to see what other Red Sox stars have come to Portland for rehabilitation stints. Basically, when a player returns to play after being injured or after surgery, the Red Sox will send a player to Portland to get them back in the groove. This gives the fans a rare opportunity to see a mega-star right here in Portland. And we've seen some massive Sox stars over the years.
The “Welcome To Maine” Guys Invade OOB and All Hell Breaks Loose
We have a brand new episode of Maine's favorite and funniest knuckleheads, Troy and Mark, and their spot-on take on the Pine Tree State with Welcome To Maine. The boys survived their close call with fireworks this month and have made the trip down to Old Orchard Beach. These dubbahs hung out at the iconic Pier in OOB, slugged a few cold ones back, learned some new curse words en francais, and enlightened and entertained us with the good, the bad, and the ugly of OOB. Hilarious!

Denise Payette-Holmes, Peter Wildes, Link Erskine, and Joe McHugh left South Portland at Noon this past Tuesday and landed at Fenway Sunday afternoon before the Sox-Phillies game. They braved 95-degree temperatures, tropical storm Elsa, numerous blisters, sore muscles, and Massachusetts drivers to complete their epic journey. And did it all for a great cause-The Jimmy Fund.
Brave Mainers Walking All the Way to Fenway Park Are Now In Massachusettes!
We have an update from the crew walking from Maine to Fenway Park. They are through Maine and New Hampshire and are in Massachusetts. Way ahead of schedule, and there's a good reason why. And the reason is Elsa. The Fantastic Four wanted to get ahead of their schedule as they know the remnants of tropical storm Elsa will be moving through New England. NOT great weather for a 110-mile stroll. These four brave Mainers are replicating a walk THEIR FATHERS did 48 years ago. All for a great cause-The Jimmy Fund.
Fenway or Bust! Update on the Mainers Walking From South Portland to Fenway
