We spoke to the Voice of the Patriots, our friend Bob Socci who had a great call of the game yesterday with Scott Zolack. Bob spoke about the game and how the Pats defense is going to have to be much better next week against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Bob also gave us some exclusive insight on what it's like broadcasting a game without any fans. Sure, he's home to crack and beer and watch the 4:25 games, but it's just not the same fighting traffic on Route 1!

Well, it looks like Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, will likely have the charges against him dropped

This is not good. Patriot players are due this week in Foxborough to get their COVID-19 tests and start practicing. But already, it sounds like SIX Patriots have said, "no, thank you,' and are opting out of playing for the season. Presumably because of the threat of getting the disease. Two of these Pats players are big-time stars and starters. Yup, Patrick Chung, and Dont'a Hightower are out.

New England Patriot superstar Julian Edelman took to social media today to discuss the anti-semitic comments that Philadelphia Eagle DeSean Jackson made a few days ago. Edleman, who is Jewish, spoke about his own Jewish heritage, as well as horrible names he has been called while on the field wearing a Pats uniform. He spoke of the Black Lives Matter movement and how right now we all need to listen to learn and to act. Edelman goes on to say that we need to have those "uncomfortable" conversations right now and challenged Jackson to go to Washington DC with Edleman to visit the Holocaust Museum. Edelman in turn would then go with Jackson to the Museum of African American History and Culture. "Afterwards, we grab some burgers and have those uncomfortable conversations." We will see if Jackson takes Julian up on it.

Mike Reiss from ESPN reported Monday that the New England Patriots will offer free parking to all lots at Gillette this season.

OK, I'm going to say this right at the top. It is JARRING to see Rob Gronkowski, out former NeE England Patriot superstar, in a BUCS t-shirt. I don't think the "trade" was real to me until right now. He's really gone. Back with TB12. And hey, if I'm falling off my chair seeing Grink in a Bucs t-shirt, wait until you see what happens what I see Tom Brady in a full Tampa Bay uniform, How do you spell apoplectic? Wait, I just did.

There was a very cool virtual fundraiser last night that honored Patriots superstar Devin McCourty. McCourty was named the Boston Uncornered 2020 Champion of the Year. Boston Uncornered is a non-profit group focused on "engaging gang-involved youth to become positive leaders in the community and end generational urban poverty." There were a bunch of Patriots (and former Patriot) stars at the fundraiser including Tom Brady and Coach Bill Belichick. Robert Kraft kicked it off and made a $100,000 dollar donation to the organization in honor of Devin McCourty. The Kraft Family donation is part of a one million dollar pledge that RKK has made to social justice issues.

Can you believe that Patriots Training Camp starts next month?! Yup, and the NFL has sent down the guidelines for all teams to adhere to as we start playing football in a global pandemic.

One of the best things we can do right now is to listen. Listen and learn. Then to turn that knowledge into action. And I've been learning a lot of late from some of my favorite athletes. The Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins have all been outspoken since the death fo George Floyd. This Instagram post from the Patriots really struck me. The worlds are from "Sweet Feet" Mr. James White. We got to meet James when we had him after the Pats Super Bowl victory for a Q&A session at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center. He is a great guy!

The Patriots released a video this past week that showed the behind the scenes going-ons of how the Pats made it all happen. And it all happens very quickly. As teams make their picks, the dance between teams and between all the Patriots scouts and coaches happens in real-time. This is a really cool video, if for nothing else to get a little glimpse of what it's like to work for the master himself-Coach Bill Belichick.

Tom Brady may no longer be a New England Patriot, but you can still own a little memento from his time here.

Maybe the one thing we miss more than live concerts....and going to bars....and restaurants...is watching and going to sports games. Watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics ia a part of our everyday lives around here. Even just having a Sox game on in the background at home is a ritual. To confess to you, I've actually put on old Red Sox games of late and just had the sound on in the background. Try it. It works and scratches that sports itch a little.
