It's the 33rd Anniversary of Aerosmith bringing the Permanent Vacation tour live to the Civic Center for the first time.

30 years ago, KISS brought their Hot in the Shade tour to the Cumberland County Civic Center. It was the 5th time Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and company rocked Portland, Maine. This era of Kiss featured Bruce Kulick on guitar and Eric Carr on drums. It ended up being Eric's last appearance onstage here.

Troy and Mark are here with episode 5 that takes us upta Bangor to visit the monument of Maine's most famous lumberjack.

For 2020, it is being called the Great Pumpkin Virtual Run/Walk/Roll. However, they haven't forgotten the pumpkins this year. Camp Sunshine will be giving away 1000 of them at drive-thru events in Casco on Wednesday 10/21 and at LL Bean in Freeport on Thursday 10/22 as part of the weeklong celebration.

29 years ago today, Van Halen was back for another incredible sold-out night live in Portland, Maine on the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge tour.

With the incredible of loss of Edward Van Halen, we thought it would be good for us Blimpsters to recall all the the amazing times Van Halen has played Maine live in concert.

Here comes episode three of the friggin wacky "Welcome to Maine" series. A couple of our favorite dubbahs, Mark and Troy are back to educate about us about another wicked decent place in the state.

The one and only Civic Center show happened at the Cross Insurance Arena on August 31, 2014. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers really felt our Maine love that night. More than once, Petty said how much they enjoyed being there with us saying, “You guys are a real pleasure to play for, here in Portland.”

33 years ago, Def Leppard brought the Hysteria tour to Portland. That night will always be an especially memorable one for me. It was the first time I was onstage to welcome the crowd as a WBLM DJ.

40 years ago today, our favorite Canadian power trio (maybe even our favorite Canadians) rocked us live at the Civic Center for the first time.

42 years ago today, the Electric Light Orchestra landed their sonic spaceship in Blimpville for a sold-out show at the Civic Center.

40 years ago today, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band came to Portland and rocked a capacity crowd at the Civic Center. Against the Wind had been out since February of that year and remains Seger’s only Number 1 album ever.
