It's the end of an era. Today my first issue of the new Playboy arrived and it ain't the one we grew up with.

My Dad always used to joke that he looked at Playboy for the articles. And there is no question that this culturally iconic magazine has consistently delivered intellectual stuff. But we always knew better as to what the main attraction was. Well now, that main attraction is a memory. The March 2016 issue is here and the beautiful topless and bare-naked models are no more. So now it's true. Dad really can go to Playboy for the articles.

This historic change is brand new and already I'm nostalgic for the way it used to be. It got me thinking. Who was on the cover when I turned 16 in 1983?

I also spent my Sunday afternoon paying tribute to all the centerfolds from 1953 to 2016. You can scroll through each and every one in chronological order starting with Marilyn Monroe courtesy of the good folks at Imgur (you can google it and find it yourself). Now that Playboy is more like Maxim I'm not gonna lie, I'll miss the lack of clothing. Thankfully, there's no lack of nudity on the internet.

In 2003, WBLM helped Playboy celebrate 50 years at the Pavillion (now Urban Outfitters) in Portland. This is closest I ever got to a centerfold. Her name is Miriam Gonzalez and she was Playboy's Playmate of the month in March 2001. I know...right!?!
