When Aerosmith came to Portland on December 6, 1979, Steven Tyler passed out onstage which brought the show to a halt. It was a Thursday night in front of a sold-out crowd at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Today go back to one of the last Portland shows of the Seventies with the original line-up of Aerosmith. It's also the anniversary of a Portland concert without Brad Whitford and Joe Perry. Both were on a November 19th at the Civic Center.
Today we celebrate the legendary guitar powerhouse who brought together rock, blues, and jazz to create an unmistakable signature sound. The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble made their first and only headlining appearance at the Civic Center, 33 years ago today.
