31 years ago, the 'circus' was back on the eve of and day of April Fools in Portland, Maine.

The Grateful Dead returned to the Cumberland County Civic Center for the fifth time and and their first two-night stand. On March 31 and April 1, 1985, while I was experiencing major senior-itis at Cony High School in Augusta, I remember being wicked envious of many of my peers skipping school for a couple days. The Dead had just recently played my hometown in October of '84 and there was no lack of representation from the Capitol City at these shows. Those Augusta shows were so historic that they ended up being included on the 30 Trips Around the Sun boxed set spanning the band's touring career. This past Monday was the 30th anniversary of their second sold-out two night stand in Portland (my first shows and the last ones!) so, we started the week off with live Dead. Let's do it again to start the weekend smilin'.

Join us tonight at 6:20 for live Grateful Dead on the WBLM Mini-Concert!
