You aren't wrong, but the biggest reason for the little egg price hike is a terrible avian flu outbreak! Millions of chickens perished because of it. Right now in Maine, the average price for eggs (and it varies wildly) is around $5.50. Prices can go as high as 8 bucks for organic to 3 dollars for a 6-pack.

Ahhhhh, one of Maine's most popular beers. If you asked someone right now if they would rather have an egg or an Allagash White, what do you think their answer would be? That's right, and it's cheaper than a dozen eggs.

9. Chocolate-Covered Twinkie From Robin's Confections - $3.00

Oh yes, all day long. This list has made me completely forget that chickens or eggs even exist.

10. Two Mega Millions Tickets - $4.00

Hey, if a Mainer in York County can pull in $1.5 billion, why not you too? Has anyone ever won a billion dollars making an omelet? I don't think so.
