One of the great things about Maine, and the rest of New England, is that we have stuff going on in all four seasons.  Winter offers us a chance to going snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, and spend time inside watching movies and playing video games. Spring offers great late season skiing and temperate days.  Summer offers us a chance to fully enjoy the New England outdoors.  Then, there's fall...  Brewfests, cornfield mazes, apple picking, SO MUCH PUMPKIN SPICE, and a lot of Halloween-themed events and attractions.

Back in the 1990s, and before, Halloween was one night.  Well, in some places, it was a few nights.  The kids went out trick-or-treating and the adults went to a party at a bar / club (or someone's house).  But, over the last few decades, Halloween has really expanded.

Here in New England, and probably most of the rest of the country, most of us are not more than an hour's drive from an amazing haunted attraction.  These attractions range from the very basic (a few costumed actors jumping out to scare you) to extremely elaborate (Hollywood movie style effects).

We want you to get out and experience some of these haunted and Halloween attractions.  That is why we have put together a list of some of the best attractions in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Keep in mind that not all of these attractions are scary.  Also, check back on this article because, as we get closer to Halloween, we'll be adding additional attractions to our list.
