Maine Centers for Disease Control says 21 people have died since October last year from the flu. They are telling people to get vaccinated.

This time last year, only two people had died from the flu. Yes, that makes the death rate 10 times higher.

But, by the time the flu season was over last May, 71 people in Maine died. CDC officials say the flu season started late last year.

CDC says the obvious things can help you avoid the flu:

  • wash your hands
  • cover your cough
  • stay home when you're sick for at least 24 hours
  • get vaccinated

Here's a good one. How do you know if you have a cold or the flu? Great question. The CDC has you covered on that one too!
