A Kid From Maine Recently Broke a Guinness World Record

Have you ever broken a record?

Maybe it was a personal record you set for yourself and you surpassed it, or maybe you’ve broken records in a practice you actually got rewarded for.

Either way, the feeling of accomplishment is one that warms your belly, puts a smile on your face, and makes you feel on top of the world.

That’s how I imagine Cooper Wright from Cumberland, Maine, felt when he recently broke a Guinness World Record.

A Teen Boy From Maine Breaks a Guinness World Record

Before Cooper Wright made a name for himself, the world record for putting together an 11,695-piece LEGO World Map was 12 hours.

The determined 13-year-old told his dad he could do it in less than 10 hours, United Press International shares, and he managed to break his own goal and the world record.

Even with a slight mishap in the middle of his quest when his table collapsed, Cooper was able to complete the 11,695-piece LEGO World Map in 9 hours, 14 minutes, and 49 seconds.

As the article shared, his table collapsed at one point and sent pieces of LEGOs flying to the floor but he still didn’t look at the clock to see how much time he was going to lose; “I wasn’t really looking at the timer because I was scared”, he exclaimed.

Well, Cooper, there was no reason to be scared because you did it!

Now, the 13-year-old’s name is in the Guinness World Records and has put my hometown, Cumberland, on the map.

I should have known a Mainer breaking records would be from Cumberland!
