A List of Every Concert at the Portland, Maine, Expo

You might not think of the Portland Expo as one of Portland's best concert spots. So you may be a bit surprised when you see who's on this list of Expo concerts. Queen, Bob Seger, INXS, The Clash, Snoop Dogg, The Beach Boys, and Jethro Tull have all played the Expo!

The Portland Exposition Building, officially the James A. Banks Sr. Exposition Building (but known to most as "The Expo"), opened in 1915. It's the second-oldest arena in continuous operation in the USA, which makes it pretty historic. We've all been to the Expo for a middle school track meet, car show, beer festival, or Red Claws game over the years, but the Expo has seen some pretty amazing events featuring historical figures and some epic concerts!

When you look at our list, it's interesting that you will see big gaps of time in between concerts. Definitely quality of quantity! If you see that we have missed a show, please let us know, and we will add it. Wikipedia mentions that Janis Joplin, James Brown, and Dolly Parton all played the Expo, but we can't find evidence.
