A New License Plate Would Support The Maine Children’s Cancer Program
When Hailey Steward of Bethel was just 5 years old she was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. That was 2012 and today she is still fighting, not just for herself but for other families. Hailey Hugs is a non-profit that has been raising money to help other families battling childhood cancer.
Another way that Hailey's family is trying to help others is by working to secure a license plate geared toward raising money for childhood cancer research. A Childhood Cancer Awareness License Plate would send $10 of the $15 from every registration and renewal to the Maine Children's Cancer Program for childhood cancer research. If it seems like this family spends a lot of time on health and fundraising, you would be right. However, they certainly love to have a good time. For her birthday, Hailey has asked for a special Daddy/Daughter dance. All are invited to the Western themed party at 8pm on March 18th at Crescent Park Elementary School in Bethel. It should be a barn burner! Get details and ticket information here.
