ACT OF KINDNESS: $10,000 Of Layaway Debt At South Portland Toys R Us Paid Off By Strangers

'Tis the season of giving, and a very welcomed surprise came to light at the South Portland Toys R Us store near the Maine Mall. According to WGME, multiple generous strangers came into the store recently and offered to pay off $10,000 worth of the layaway debt on the books.

That large check paid the balance for nearly 100 layaway accounts at Toys R Us for this holiday season. But the real payoff comes in the reactions of customers who are showing up to make payments on their layaway bills. The store has informed multiple customers that their bill has been paid in full, leaving those customers stunned and in some cases, in tears.

It is the largest donation ever received by the Toys R Us in South Portland.
