New England Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick has always been regarded as one of the defensive gurus of the NFL and he made that reputation for himself as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants during the 1980's and early 1990's.

He and then head coach Bill Parcells won two Super Bowl titles with a ferocious defense led by Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor and linebackers Carl Banks, Pepper Johnson and Harry Carson. On Tuesday, Belichick was asked how he felt about the Philadelphia Eagles' use of four linebackers and if that presented any challenges for opposing offenses.

Belichick replied that it is nothing new that there were many times when the Giants deployed four linebackers that were constantly rotating in and out of the game.
