Brunswick’s Bowdoin College Raising Minimum Wage
Like many businesses around the state, colleges are having a tough time finding employees.
Bowdoin College is no exception, but they believe they have found a solution.
According to WGME, the heritage Maine college has increased their starting pay to $17 per hour.
Apparently, a wage increase had already been in the works, but they sped up the process in order to fill ranks for the upcoming school year.
Additionally, over three hundred currently employed support staff will see their pay go up.
According to Indeed, the college is currently looking to fill positions for dinning service workers, a dinning services manager, electricians, and several other positions.
