A close call in Raymond today as a moving pickup door opened as it passed a Cumberland County Sheriff's Vehicle! Was it on purpose or an accident?

According to the Sheriff's Office:

The cruiser, a 2017 fully marked Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Chevrolet Tahoe, had all of its emergency lights on and functioning. A 2005 Chevrolet utility body truck attempted to pass the cruiser and one of its rear doors swung open striking the cruiser. The cruiser sustained significant damage resulting in it being taken out of service. It was discovered the door had not been properly secured. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

The Chevrolet utility truck was operated by Scott R. Gardner, 52 years old of Raymond, Maine. Mr. Gardner was summonsed for operating with an expired license, more than 90 days (class E).

No one was injured in the accident.
