I'm all about finding cool stuff for free, today I saw this Craigslist post:

"Old lady looking family to live with" (Auburn)

OK, that got my attention...what exactly is going on here?

"Old "lady" looking for new family to help. Alice is an upright baby grand piano made by F.Radle who is a bit rough around the edges and wants to be useful again. If you can help her move (she might need a walker of some kind) she would love to make beautiful music in your home for many years to come."

condition: fair

make / manufacturer: F.Radle
model name / number: Upright grand
size / dimensions: Piano shaped"

Oh, how I wish that I could give Alice a new home, but we took in another "old lady" from Craigslist this spring. After having her tuned, she is a wonderful addition to the family and though she's no spring chicken, she is definitely entertaining. She came from a fraternity house at Bowdoin College and was built around 1900. From the amount of candle wax that we had to scrape off her, we can tell she was a party girl.

Here she is!
