Delicious Ice Cream and More Available on a Food Boat on New Hampshire’s Lake Winnisquam
It's no shock that food trucks have only grown in popularity overtime, with even some popular brick-and-mortar restaurants extending their services (or completely transferring their services over) to food trucks. Some specialize in specific foods like tacos or cupcakes, others offer a little bit of everything.
But have you ever heard of a food boat? Outside of a business that offers a sunset dinner cruise, probably not -- unless you're a frequenter of Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire. Because on Winnisquam floats the popular Winni Lick -- a food boat offering snacks and hard ice cream.
Based on Winni Lick's Facebook page, the food boat tends to spend a lot of its time set up at the sand bar by the state boat launch dishing out all the deliciousness. And according to a post on the u Local New Hampshire Facebook group by Laurie Kempf, it's a massive hit.
Comments on Laurie's post include Dan Churchill saying, "We need more of these!" and Lorna Caron suggesting "That's a good (idea) for the summer." In fact, some people think it's such a great idea that comments are requesting a food boat to pop up on the other Winni in our lives -- Lake Winnipesaukee.
And as for the actual customers of Winni Lick -- glowing reviews! Everything from suggesting Winni Lick is a great addition to Lake Winnisquam, to even commending the owner for being over-the-top friendly and occasionally visiting customers at their own sites, with one customer, Kayla Fallier, said the ice cream was amazing and the owner made her kids' night!
Based on the life of the Facebook page, too (which was created last July), it looks like Winni Lick could've been another one of those outside-the-box creative ideas the pandemic forced upon us. But regardless of when Winni Lick started, it looks like what it DID start was quite possibly the next trend in the food business, proving that you don't need just land to be mobile and sell deliciousness!
