Did This Now Closed Pub Really Have Maine’s Best Fried Chicken?
For many people, fried chicken is the ultimate comfort food. Especially, when it is done right. When it is seasoned the right way and cooked till it is golden brown and crispy. Is there anything better? Yeah, we don't think so, either.
But, who serves up the best fried chicken in the State of Maine?
Well, according to an article written by the team at Cheapism, the best fried chicken in Maine can be found at a real hole in the wall restaurant in the Western Maine town of Greenville.
According to the article, the fried chicken at Flatlander's needs to be experienced. The article says, in part:
Just off Moosehead Lake is Flatlanders, a small pub that's busy with tourists in summer and a place where locals can warm up and get something good to eat in winter. Their marinated, broasted chicken is lightly dusted in flour, cooked under steam pressure, then browned in oil for an extra crunchy finish.
Sounds good, doesn't it?
There is only one problem... It appears that the pub closed its doors for the last time in the fall of 2021. It appears that it was one of many restaurants / bars that did not survive the post-pandemic economy.
