According to the Portland Press Herald, around noon on Thursday folks in Cape Elizabeth heard a boom and felt the rumble of a minor earthquake. I was sitting on my couch in So.Po., right on the Cape line when I heard it. I stood up, listening intently because though I had no idea what exactly I had heard, it didn't sound good. Apparently it was the movement of rock below the earth's surface, a 2.0 magnitude earthquake! The Cape Elizabeth Police Department got calls on their non-emergency line from residents wondering what was up. In June, Maine had 7 minor earthquakes!

Have you ever felt an earthquake in Maine?
