If you have plans to go to your nearest Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles today to renew your license or take a road test, you're out of luck.

On Thursday, September 26, all 13 branches of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles are closed for staff training in Augusta.

According to the BMV's website this meeting is to "...review the bureau’s Language Accessibility Policy and provide staff with an introduction to deaf culture."

That's great, but it is going to be an inconvenience for everyone who drives to the BMV and finds it closed, so you might want to spread the word.

If you want to use any of the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles' online services, those are still available. You can renew your driver's license right from the comfort of your own home at the link below. If you planned on taking a road test though, you're out of luck.

Starting tomorrow, the BMV is open for its regular scheduled hours.
