Don’t Forget To License Your Dog in 2019 – Do It Right Here

Happy New Year to you and your pooch! Here's a nice reminder from the Portland Police Department to get a license for your dog. In Maine, you must license your pup. It's 7 bucks if your dog is spayed or neutered. 12 bucks if not.

According to Maine.gov here's where your dog license money goes:

• Local Animal Control Officers and State Humane Agents
• Investigation of animal cruelty complaints and enforcement of animal welfare laws
• Compliance with rabies vaccination of dogs
• Care for sick and injured stray animals
• Return of lost dogs to their owners

Luckily, you can license your dog online RIGHT HERE, 

All you'll need is:

• Credit Card
• License/Tag number (Renewal only)
• State of Maine Rabies certificate
• Veterinarian's name and phone number
• Spay or Neuter Certificate (if your dog has been "fixed")
