Driver Accused of Going 111 MPH Near Memorial Ceremony of The Fallen Seven
According to WGME, 25-year-old Dingming Zhou of Washington state was allegedly clocked going 111 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone by New Hampshire State Police.
Zhou was charged with reckless driving and is scheduled to appear at Berlin Circuit Court on December 17th.
This alleged incident occurred Saturday near the Mount Jefferson View Hotel where a gathering and memorial unveiling was being held to honor the Fallen Seven, who were killed by an allegedly impaired truck driver on June 21st, the news station reported. The hotel dedicated a spot in their field for the memorial sculpture and is where the bikers were staying at the time of the crash.
The Fallen Seven were members and spouses of the Jarhead Motorcycle Club, which is made up of Marine veterans. About 400 people attended the emotional ceremony that unveiled a metal sculpture depicting the five bikes of the Fallen Seven. The bikes are riderless and have steel wings.
Volodymyr Zhukovsky was the driver of a truck pulling a trailer that allegedly swerved into the motorcycles, killing seven people. Zhukovsky was arrested and charged with seven counts of negligent homicide, he has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail. He was also charged with operating while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
