Days are long and stressfull for employees at Maine Medical Center, and according to a press release from Dunkin', they received an amazing pick me up on Thursday when a 32-foot-long Dunkin' truck pulled up ready to support the staff.

Doctors, nurses and support staff at Maine Med received 1,200 cups of coffee and 1,200 Munchkins from Dunkin'. Not only is the sugar and caffeine welcome, but a much needed pat on the back for the intense work that they are doing was also delivered.

According to the press release, Dunkin' has totally stepped up, providing more than $25,000 worth of gift cards, 264 pounds of ground coffee, 360 boxes of Dunkin' K-Cups and $20,000 in emergency Joy in Childhood Foundation grants to Maine's strained food banks. On top of that, Dunkin' has also established an online gift card site so that we can send Dunkin' eGift Cards to doctors, nurses, teachers, first responders, postal workers, grocery clerks, good neighbors and anyone else who is being supportive when the world really needs it. The site is DunkinCoffeeBreak.com. Dunkin' donates $1, up to $100,000 for every card purchased on the site, to the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation. The foundation provides emergency funds to non-profit organizations working specifically to help families affected by COVID-19.

It's wonderful to hear about our local businesses supporting our first responders and do-gooders in Maine. Thank you Dunkin'.
