Fall Colors: Explore This Massachusetts Museum by Outdoor Train
Here's something to add to your fall travels and day trips for a unique museum experience. It's at the EcoTarium Museum of Science and Nature in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This exciting museum is home to a planetarium and Explorer Express Train, as well as three floors of indoor interactive exhibits and live animal habitats inside and outside on the campus. It also holds daily science discovery programs and other events you can keep track of for future trips. According to the EcoTarium Museum, what makes them special is not only their wonderful exhibits and speaker series (many of which are interactive), but the hikes through the forest and meadow nature trails that you can enjoy. This, too, is where the train comes in.
If you're not up for the hiking or just want to enjoy a fun, creative way to explore the outdoor grounds of the museum, then jump onto the open-air passenger cars of the Explorer Express Train for a scenic, relaxing, and beautiful ride. How many museums do you know that offer a train ride around the museum's glorious outdoor campus? Talk about educational and family-friendly fun.
The museum says you can buy your train tickets when you arrive to the museum, and they'll assign you a time, as the train holds 46 people at most. So if the day is a bit busier, then that reserved time will keep you on track (pardon the pun) while you enjoy the rest of the museum.
