Friday’s Insane Subzero Wind Caused Chaos at the Brunswick, Maine, Shaw’s
No cap. I've legit never seen anything like this before in my life. Not even during the insane tornado season I experienced while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where there was literally some type of tornado almost every single day in May 2019.
And I guess technically, I didn't see first-hand what I'm talking about, just a picture my buddy sent me. But the weather last Friday made things get wild at the Shaw's in Brunswick.
That's normally what the Shaw's in Brunswick looks like. Pay close attention to the cart corrals in that picture, because it'll come into play in a second. And let me preface this by saying this isn't a rant about people leaving their shopping carts loose in the parking lot or how they put them back in the cart corral.
Maine Subzero Weather
You don't need to be a meteorologist to know that this past weekend's weather, well, it sucked. It was the kind of subzero weather where being outside for 10 minutes could put you at risk for frostbite.
Plus, add in the fact that the negative temperatures was also accompanied by some pretty strong winds, and what the hell it felt like the 8th layer of the North Pole. Like it was the kind of weather where you step outside and instantly your nose hairs feel frozen, and the first breath you take in feels like it's freezing your insides.
Anyway, my buddy tried to get ahead of the game and hit the grocery store on Friday to prep for staying in all weekend, and it just so happens his go-to grocery store is also the Shaw's in Brunswick.
So, you can imagine how shocked I was while I was on air doing my show, he sent me a picture from inside his car that showed how insane the wind actually was (after telling me the wind actually almost sent his cart across the parking lot multiple times and he had to practically stand on it to keep it in place.)
That had to be from the wind, right? It's not like it snowed at all last week so that didn't happen from a plow. Unreal.
