Any celebrity with New England ties feels cool, like we're connected in a way.  Well, at least if you like them I guess.  How can anyone not love the award-winning Tommy Lee Jones, who returns to Massachusetts to start filming his latest movie this month, April 2022?

Even though Jones is a Texan, his ties are deep in Massachusetts where he went to Harvard University, played football for them, and actually roomed with Vice President Al Gore.  He graduated Cum Laude back in 1969 with a Bachelors in English Literature.

So, being back in his old stomping grounds this month and next, I wouldn't be surprised if he spends some time in Boston and Cambridge, and who knows?  Maybe he'll make his way up the Seacoast.

The movie is a crime thriller called "Finestkind", and will bring Tommy to the area for April and May.  And get this: according to SouthCoast Today, "Finestkind" is based on a true story out of the Whaling City of New Bedford, about two brothers pulled into a deal with an organized crime syndicate in Boston.

It's written by New Bedford, Massachusetts native, University of Massachusetts grad, and Oscar winner Brian Helgeland, known for "L.A. Confidential" and "Mystic River."

But wait, there's more!  Tommy's co-star, Ben Foster, from "Six Feet Under" and "3:10 to Yuma" is from Boston.  Filming locations around Massachusetts include New Bedford, Fairhaven, Brockton, Scituate, Dedham, and Stoughton, according to Boston.com.

Paramount+ owns the rights and will debut the film later this year according to SouthCoast Today. It will most likely be in the late fall or early winter of 2022.
