It's one of the great Maine traditions that has fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fair season. You see, we Mainers get pretty ramped up about certain things around these parts. Snowmobiling, Patriots games and fair season.

Since the beginning of May, all but a few Maine fairs have already announced that they won't be happening this year and are hoping to get back into the swing of things in 2021. Well, that takes away the carnival games, the truck pulls, the rides and most importantly, the food. Until now.

According to a Facebook post by Joanna Keneflick, Kevin's carnival food stand will be at the Windsor Fairgrounds this week serving up some of your favorite carnival classics. You can find the travelling trailer of goodness operating from 11-7 this Thursday through Sunday. (5-28 thru 5-31)

According to the pictures in the post, you can get such foods as fresh french fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage, fried dough deep fried Oreo cookies, chicken tenders, cold drinks and more!

So, if you're in the area, or even if you're not, sounds like a quick trip out to my hometown of Windsor, Maine might be just what you need for a midweek or weekend pick-me-up.

And remember the Windsor fairgrounds are massive, so there is plenty of room to bring a blanket and make a picnic out of it. You can sit right in the middle of it all where the midway would normally be and envision yourself on all the thrilling rides as you indulge in some of that great, classic Maine fair food.
