'Tis the season for twinkling holiday lights. And for 2020, the season for events that allow for social distancing.

City streets lined with Christmas lights are gorgeous, there's no question about that. A handful of towns around the state are even hosting light parades with cars, police cars, fire trucks, and floats decked out with hundreds of twinkling lights.

It's no doubt that the coastal Maine town of Boothbay has a strong Christmas light game. They're home to Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and they're the home of the Lighted Boat Parade and Sparkle Fireworks.

The Lighted Boat parade can be seen in the harbor beginning at 6:45 this Saturday, December 12th. Can't make it to Boothbay in person? No problem! The parade will be live-streamed on Boothbay Lights Facebook page as well as on the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

After the parade, at 7:30 the fireworks will begin.
