It's exciting to see new doors opening on Commercial Street in Portland, Maine.

With so many closures in the last couple of years, it's a breath of fresh air to see that there are still some industry-driven groups out there that want to create something unique for their city.

Rather than going with the closing trend, these guys are doing the exact opposite and going right up against it.

After Silver House and later Jake Tavern's closure, there will be a new bar opening up.

It will be called PortTown Public House & Coffee Bar.

They're hopeful to open their doors on October 20, with a grand opening the following week on October 25.
