Hey Pats Fans, Who’s Afraid of the Ravens? [PHOTOS]
The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Gillette Stadium this Saturday to play the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoff game and while confidence is high that the Pats will prevail, recent history can't be ignored.
Why? Believe it or not, the Ravens are the only team in the AFC to have a winning record against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium during the Brady/Belichick era. If not for a failed Billy Cundiff field goal in 2012 that allowed New England to go to the Super Bowl, the Ravens could easily have a 3-0 record in Foxborough. Even Rolling Stone.com is jumping on the dirty birds' bandwagon.
Several Patriots football analysts have said the Patriots will not play the same team that beat them twice at home in 2013 and 2009, but the Ravens are playing their best ball of the season after thrashing the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road last weekend.
The Boston Herald reported this week the most important thing the Patriots need to do to win Saturday is to protect Tom Brady, protect Tom Brady, protect Tom Brady against the Ravens fierce pass rush led by Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil.
A healthy and hungry Rob Gronkowski could be the difference make for the Patriots, according to NESN.com. No team in the NFL, including the Ravens, have an answer for the Patriots tight end.
Opening kick off is at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday. Be sure to stay with 102.9, the Patriots Maine Rock Radio Network, for all your pregame and live action. Go Pats!
