Holy Cannoli! You Can Now Get Boston’s Modern Pastry in Portland

It's a Maine Foodie Miracle! Incredible baked delights from World Famous Modern Pastry are now available in Portland! Micucci's Italian Grocery on India Street in Portland gave us the good news on Facebook:

"Are you all ready for this?! For 40 of our 73 years in business, we have brought you the delicious Modern Pastry of Boston every Christmas….We have proudly partnered with Modern Pastry and will have it for sale in our store every week starting Wednesday, March 2nd. We are very excited and hope you are too! Finally, Boston’s Italian Pastry right here at Micucci’s!"

Modern Pastry has been a staple in Boston's North End (Little Italy) since 1930. Cookies, cakes, cannolis, Terrone, pies, and tarts...this is as good as it gets when it comes to an Italian bakery. And Micucci's is the perfect place to carry Modern; being Maine's only Italian specialty food store, they are pretty legendary themselves. Micucci's started in 1946 in India Street, and generations of Micucci's have run the store ever since.

Now, if you are from Boston, you know about the Great Canolli Wars. It's Modern Pastry in one corner and Mike's Pastry (also in the North End) in the other. Generations of New Englanders have argued about which bakery makes the better cannoli. I'm pretty sure it's all just an excuse to eat more cannoli's so have at it!

Maybe we can get Mike's Pastry up here too so we can have our own "Mike's vs Modern" Cannoli Battle!
