I am a fan of originals. I don't enjoy movie makers messing with my childhood memories. Sure, I was terrified of the Grinch, but that was part of the fun. He was just scary enough, but not too scary. Then came a long the 2000 remake with Jim Carrey, it was dark and depressing and not at all what my holiday heart was craving. It was full-press horrifying and I wouldn't let my kids watch it.

Now we have a new 2018 version of "Dr Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to critique, it's a little brighter than Jim Carrey's version but my family still didn't like it because nothing will beat the original- in our humble opinions.
