In-n-Out Burger is Heading East – Could Maine Get One?

After years of saying they would never head east, it's happening.

Eater reports that after decades of only being west of the Mississippi, California chain In-N-Out says they are heading east! They will open an office in Tennessee in the next few months and scout out locations for In-N-Out to open somewhere in the east in 2026! That's just three short years away.

This is huge because In-N-Out has always said it would only expand to states where it could offer the same quality of burgers and fries it has served in California since 1948. They are in Texas, but only after building a dedicated facility to produce its beef patties. That's dedication. But opening an office in Tennessee is surprising because it wasn't that long ago that the CEO (Lynsi Snyder, the granddaughter of founder Harry Snyder) told Forbes wouldn't move east beyond Texas as long as she was alive. She liked that they were sought after.

But that whole not going to the east is off the table. In-N-Out has been expanding and is about to open up a few locations in Idaho. They have almost 400 places in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Oregon, and soon Idaho.

If Maine can get a Chick-fil-A, could In-N-Out be that far behind? If you thought the lines were long for chicken, I'd easily wait an hour for this burger! No word on what states will get the California burger that started back in 1948...so stay tuned!
