Is This Really the Best Place to Live in New Hampshire?
Here in New England, we know we're lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.
Over the years, countless studies have directed high praise towards our region. Last year, a WalletHub study announced the best small cities in the country, and eight New England towns made the list. Our area has also been highlighted for having the most magical winter wonderland towns, hottest zip codes, most underrated destinations, and restaurants that made the New York Times' Restaurant List.
New Hampshire in particular is a hot commodity amongst prospective homeowners. But what towns in the Granite State are the best ones to live in?
Enter niche.com, a ranking and review site for neighborhoods, cities, states, colleges, and more. They've shared a list of the best places to live in New Hampshire, and you may be surprised by the town that comes out on top.
According to Niche, the town of Hanover is the best place to live in New Hampshire.
Niche describes Hanover as a place that "offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes." The website goes on to reference the population of young professionals, moderate political views, and "highly rated" public schools.
Now, this writer has no intention of talking smack about Hanover. She doesn't know much about the town, so there's not much to say. But at the same time, that's precisely why the town's high ranking is perplexing. There are lots of Granite State communities that are regularly praised and talked about for various reasons, and Hanover's not one that frequently come up in conversation. Then again, as Niche mentions, factors like the public school system are likely responsible for the glowing rating.
What do you think? Is Hanover the best town in New Hampshire, or is another place more deserving?
