The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is reminding Mainers (that's us!) that it's free to fish in Maine this weekend!

In an official release online, the Department announced that on June 3rd and 4th, anyone (who hasn't had their license suspended or revoked) may fish in Maine without a fishing license. 🐟🐡🐠

Normally, Maine requires that everyone over the age of 16 obtain a license to fish in the state, with the exception of two weekends, one in the winter season and one in the spring, when fishing is free. The Department says that free weekends help promote the tradition of fishing and outdoor recreation in Maine.
