Video of Old Radio Shack, Smoke Shop in Augusta, Maine Demolished

It's officially the end of an era here in Augusta, Maine. As the wheels of progress turn, so too do the heavy steel tracks of the excavator. Over the years we have certainly seen a lot of change here in the Central Maine area.

From the closing of the China Dine-ah to Reny's getting ready to move into what will soon be the former JC Penny location at the Elm Plaza. Inevitably, things change and that's just the way it is.

Years ago, after Friendly's at the Augusta Plaza closed, we brought you video of the building being torn down, and now we have even more footage of demolition. While it is a little bittersweet, I go back to my previous comment about how change is inevitable.

Honestly, at this point, I'm just happy that our studios here at the plaza haven't been demolished yet. We're one of the only remaining OG businesses in the plaza. Basically it's us, Wendy's and the Laundromat that have stood the test of time.

At any rate, the old RadioShack and Maine Smoke Shop building came down yesterday to make way for what's rumored to be the new VIP Tires location. If you weren't driving by when crews were doing the demo on Monday, worry not, we got a bunch of video for you to check out below.
