Don't you just hate it when you're driving along on the Maine Turnpike and you have to slow way down to move over for wayward goats? Because same.

Yes, this actually happened over the weekend down in Falmouth. According to an article from WGME 13, 15 goats were in the back of a trailer out for a Saturday afternoon drive when the trailer became detached from the truck that was towing it.

Fortunately, the trailer didn't go careening into a barrel roll launching innocent itty bitty baby goats into the stratosphere and raining goat limbs onto the southbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike. Quite the opposite, actually.

The broken trailer came to a safe stop near the median, however, these cheeky little goats thought this would be the perfect place to wander out of their enclosure on wheels and head out into traffic. Why? Because they're goats, they lack the ability to reason.

Traffic must have been affected by the roamin' goats?

As you can imagine, when you have 15 goats roaming the north and southbound lanes of the 'Pike, traffic really slows to a crawl. This caused quite a travel delay on both sides of the interstate as several agencies responded to help clear the goats from the road.

WGME reported that northbound traffic was slowed down for around 45 minutes. They say that several agencies responded to the scene including Southern Maine Towing, the Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, the town of Cumberland, the Cumberland Police Department Animal Control, and the Maine Turnpike Authority.

Thankfully all is well and every goat made it out unscathed. Thank goodness because it could have gotten baaaaaaaaaaaaaad quick. See what I did there?!

Bye.
