International Seaplane Fly-In Weekend Takes Over Greenville

It’s always a popular weekend up in northern Maine when the International Seaplane Fly-In returns to Greenville, and this weekend should be no different. The 52nd annual event is underway September 10-13, bringing pilots, visitors and plenty of seaplanes to beautiful Moosehead Lake.

Every September, the Fly-In brings thousands of people into Greenville and the Moosehead Lake Region. It’s a chance to see seaplanes coming and going on the lake, meet pilots and enjoy one of those events that really makes Greenville a fun place to be this time of year.

Saturday Is the Big Day

Saturday, September 12, will be a busy day of events. Vendor booths and Fly-In merchandise will be set up from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the popular Seaplane Parade gets underway at 8:30 a.m. in East Cove.

Then from 10 a.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m., attention turns to the pilot contests at the Stobie Hangar. The order of those competitions will depend on the weather and number of pilots taking part. There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the pilots during the day.

With planes, vendors and crowds coming from all over, it’s one of the busiest weekends of the year in Greenville, and a great excuse to spend a September day along Moosehead Lake.
