These Allagash Beer-Battered Tenders Are a Maine Must-Have
When it comes to chicken tenders, few can claim the level of expertise that I bring to the table.
From the perfect golden crisp to the ultimate dipping sauce, I have tried them all, and I'm not shy about sharing my opinions.
Whether it's a fast-food joint or a sit-down restaurant, if chicken tenders are on the menu, you can bet I've already ranked, rated, and reviewed them.
And when it comes to where to get the absolute best ones in Maine, only a handful of locally-owned eateries make my list. And now, thanks to delicious crispy chicken and a Maine brewery, another spot is officially making my list.
For starters, if you've never been to Westernview Golf Club on Bolton Hill Road in Augusta, you are already missing out. From delicious fresh-made sandwiches, salads, burger and sides to ice-cold signature cocktails, Westernview is the bomb dot com.
Now, let's dive into these juicy tenders, shall we? A menu item that's been available for about a year or so, these chicken tenders are unlike any you've had anywhere else. I promise.
And, what it all really boils down to, is the breading.
These bad boys are deep-fried in a batter that uses a base of Maine-made Allagash White beer. And, if you're wondering how beer-battered chicken tastes? Let me be the first to tell you that it's incredible.
And you can't go wrong with any side you pair it with. From sweet potato fries to onion rings, tater tots or hand cuts, anything you choose will be the perfect side-chick to these crispy delights.
But, don't take my word for it, stop in this week and try them for yourself!
