When it comes to Maine weddings, we certainly have no shortage of them. As a wedding DJ myself, I can attest to the absolute beauty that this amazing state provides couples all spring, summer, and fall as they stand up to say "I do."

For most couples, planning their wedding really hinges on the perfect venue, dress, and groomsmen and bridesmaids.

However, at least for one Maine couple, the most important part for them is the timing.

That's because for this Maine couple, they want to officially become married during the totality of the upcoming solar eclipse set to peak over Maine on April 8, 2024.

According to an article published by WABI TV 5, Chris Selmek and Stephanie Sennett are planning to do just that.

The news station reports that Chris was once on a cross-country road trip when it dawned on him that he needed to be in Maine with Stephanie.

Chris told the news station that he proposed to Stephanie on the front porch before he even made it into the house after returning from the road trip.

Since then, they have contemplated the timing of their wedding, ultimately deciding to marry during a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event.

The couple decided that Stephanie will begin walking down the aisle to Chris at the exact moment of totality.

Though getting married during the solar eclipse will certainly be something the couple talks about often, they both agree that the most important part of the entire day is starting the rest of their lives together, according to WABI.

Would you get married during an eclipse or some other big event?
