Maine Comedian Highlights the Top 5 “Chillest” Sidewalks in Portland

Snow removal from roads and sidewalks in Portland is a big job. Especially with the snow we got hit with again and again in February 2025. It takes time and sidewalks are often the last to get cleared, leaving it difficult for people to get around on foot.

One person on Instagram decided to show us what he believes are the Top 5 "Chillest" sidewalks in Portland. By "chillest" I think he means the sidewalks in the worst shape from the snow.

Who is "stain.lane?"

Stain.Lane is the Instagram page of Nikolai Lane, who proclaims he is Maine's worst and most evil comedian. Based on his Top 5 video on the chillest sidewalks in Portland, I don't see how he's Maine's worst comedian. His level of evil remains to be seen.

In fairness to the city of Portland and public works crews, the streets are much clearer than they were when this video was posted in February. If you encounter sidewalks that aren't cleared, that may fall on the owner of the property that abuts the uncleared sidewalk per Portland law.
