I have officially reached the point where I trust Winthrop Veterinary Hospital with my dog’s life… even though my dog, MoonDog, has made it very clear that he does not trust them with his blood.

And honestly? That’s one of the reasons I love this place.

The last time we went in for blood work, MoonDog decided the best possible response was to perform what can only be described as a barrel roll off the exam table to avoid the needle.

It was less “veterinary appointment” and more “Cirque du Soleil: MOON Edition.”

Courtney, the tech, stopped him and basically said, “I could have done it… but then we’d ruin going to the vet for him.”

That moment says everything about why I appreciate Winthrop Veterinary Hospital.

I’ve been to other vets where the focus can feel like getting the procedure done and moving on.

Not at Winthrop, nope, they focus mostly your pet’s mental and emotional well being matters most.

They’re patient. They read the animal in front of them. And if something can be done differently to keep your pet from becoming terrified of the vet, they take that seriously.

And this isn’t just a place for routine checkups.

Winthrop Veterinary Hospital gives it all, wellness and preventative care, dentistry, surgery, radiology, endoscopy, acupuncture, laser therapy and an in-house laboratory for diagnostics.

But for me, it’s the people that make the difference.

MoonDog may never willingly volunteer for blood work.

But I do know when we walk through those doors, he’s going to be treated with patience, compassion and respect.

That’s why Winthrop Veterinary Hospital is the best vet for my pet.
