El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant Now Open in Lewiston, Maine
El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant has added a fourth location in Maine, and people are raving about it.
The original El Rodeo is on Western Avenue in South Portland in the former Outback Steakhouse, but that couldn't stay in business. That's not the case for El Rodeo. It's one of the most popular restaurants near the Maine Mall.
Since the South Portland location's success, two other locations opened. One is on Route 1 in Scarborough, and the other is on Bath Road in Brunswick. On July 1, El Rodeo opened its fourth location on Sabbattus Street in Lewiston.
The building was originally built as a Tim Horton's.
But Tim Horton's didn't stand a chance in most of Maine against Dunkin', so it eventually closed.
Then, the space was filled by Buudah Asian Bistro.
And it closed.
Then Burnt Ends Barbeque took over.
And then moved.
Yes, I know I used the same closed photo each time, but it's much easier this way.
Based on the success of the other three restaurants, I think El Rodeo in Lewiston is here to stay.
Katy Charpentier of East Wales shared some photos of her meal at the new El Rodeo, and it looks delicious. Big points for the Mexican Coca-Cola in a glass bottle. It's so much better drinking out of that than plastic, and it's made with cane sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup.
And this looks amazing!
If you're in the Lewiston/Auburn area, give this locally-owned-and-operated place a try.
