7 Maine Restaurants That Closed Their Doors in January 2026
While the first month of 2026 saw a handful of new restaurants open their doors, it also marked the end for a number of others.
Some of these places have been around for decades, some for only a few years, and one has closed its current location and will be moving to a new spot.
It's sad to see places go no matter the length of time they've been around, but thankfully, the memories will live on.

A long-standing spot that closed its doors in January was Pat's Pizza in Milo, Maine. The establishment shared on Facebook that the decision to close was "not made lightly."
The Milo location opened over 30 years ago.
Thankfully, you can still get your Pat's Pizza fix, as there are a bunch of locations throughout the state.
Another place that closed was Paper Plane in Camden after three years open. But the positive to that social media announcement was that the cocktail bar was moving to a new location. So it's closing... for now.
While an opening date hasn't been revealed yet, Paper Plane is just moving to downtown Camden to 47 Bay View Street.
Unfortunately, some of the other closures across the state were for good. Let's take a look.

Time and again, it's easy to see just how tough the restaurant world can be, so when you find that food place you love, make sure to enjoy it. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the company. Enjoy the moment.
Those will be the memories you can hold on to, even after a place is gone.
Which of these places are you sad to see go?
