The Annual Greek Festival in Saco, Maine, is This Week
Did you miss the Portland Greek Festival? Worry not, and head to Saco's starting this Friday.
Nothing is better than Greek food. Greeks show love through food, and there is so much love at the Greek Festival in Saco. Last year was the first time they had been in person in years because of the pandemic. The big tent is all set, and once again, the food, music, and dancing will take place at the gorgeous St. Demetrios Orthodox Church in Saco.
Saco, Maine, Greek Festival: July 12 - 14
There's Greek music, dancing, an area just for the kiddos, church tours (it's beautiful), and more! Opa!
All your favorites will be served, including dolmathes, spanakopita ("spa-nah-KOH-pee-tah"), pastitsio ("pas-TEET-sio"), souvlaki, and more Greek desserts than you'll know what to do with! They even have hot dogs for those who are dragged there against their will.
According to St. Demetrios Orthodox Church:
By God’s grace, our parish continues to grow, and we are blessed with a thriving and diverse community: from very young children to valued elders, coming from many different cultural backgrounds, many of whom were born into the Faith while many others found it later in life, and every year our Greek Festival welcomes thousands of visitors from near and far. We believe that God is doing good things here, and we are blessed to be a part of it.

If you are a person who shows love through food, you will feel the love in all this home-cooked deliciousness. It's a love language of the Greeks. If you've never had Greek food, this is a great way to start!
Whatever you do, save room for dessert!
