Where in Maine Can You Get Fried Lobster Claws?
How have I not had fried lobster claws?
You do not have to travel wide and far to get to your new favorite food – fried lobster claws! The Gridiron in Lewiston has them!
To quote Gridiron when I called to inquire about them:
They are soooooo good!
But they aren't a regular menu item! They are a special item, so call ahead if this is the number one reason for getting in your car and driving to Lewiston. But it's worth keeping an eye on their Facebook page for this treat. How is it that I haven't even thought of doing this to lobster? I could plow through quite a few of these suckers!
Are there fried lobster claws at other places in Maine?
While hunting for claws, I found plenty of tails. Lobster tails that is. Ever had a lobster tail in a corndog coating?
The High Roller Lobster Co in Portland's Old Port has an option to get lobster tail on a stick with either melted butter or covered in a cornbread batter. It's their 'Lobby Pop'. What you dip it in is up to you. Great, now there are two things I need to put on my lobster-eating adventures.
Can I get fried lobster claws at the Red Barn in Augusta?
Yup!
Red Barn in Augusta has your fried lobster claw basket! Besides being an incredibly charitable restaurant with a mission statement of giving back, they have some incredible dishes. That includes the fried lobster claw basket!
I'm putting fried lobster claws on my summer bucket list!
