A popular travel site recently showered plenty of praise towards one of Maine's most cherished spots, Acadia National Park.

A recent post from the iconic travel site Condé Nast Traveler did just that. The site posted an article about the best places to camp in every state. To no surprise, Maine's representative was Acadia.

What can be said about Acadia that hasn't already? The picturesque national park is loaded with beautiful views, amazing trails, pristine ponds, and extremely in-demand campgrounds.

It's a stunningly perfect spot. It's a park loaded with activities that are ideal for any time of year. Acadia has sightseeing, birding, horseback riding, kayaking, and some of the best mountain hiking around.

The true cherry on top has to be the views. Acadia has some of the best you will find. Rocky shorelines, secret ponds, incredible mountaintop scenes, and gorgeous lakes await, and you can take plenty of pictures of them.

So, just imagine what it's like to enjoy all of these activities and beauty, while staying right in the heart of the park. That's what you get with what Condé Nast Traveler calls Maine's best campground, Blackwoods.

Located near the banks of Otter Cove is this beautiful campground. The seasonal spot is an ideal location to truly immerse yourself into the national park. But don't just take my word for it. Here is a little of what Condé Nast Traveler had to say.

Snuggled into a lush forest of spruce and hemlock, Blackwoods Campground provides a centrally located shady solace for adventure seekers in Acadia. Climb Cadillac Mountain for a spectacular sunrise show, dip your feet into the water at Sand Beach, and marvel at the craggy coastal headland of Otter Point.

The other unique aspect about Blackwoods is that it's one of very few campgrounds in the park. This means the demand is very high, so reservations tend to go fast. You get get more info about booking a site here.

Let's be honest, it's really no surprise to see an Acadia campground make this list. The park has a special level of uniqueness that just screams Maine. It's the only true northeastern spot that has all of the region's best aspects, including mountains that literally touch the sea.  I'm glad to see those "from away" agree as well.
