The wait is almost over Aldi enthusiasts.

More than a year ago, news broke that Aldi, a German-based grocery store chain, would finally be making their way to Maine.

Aldi announced they would be occupying the space left behind by Big Lots at the Pine Tree Shopping Center in Portland.

Initially, the grocery chain expected a grand opening in late-2025. But according to WMTW, "construction shifts" are the reason behind a series of delays that forced Aldi and the store's fans to be patient.

But that patience will soon be rewarded.
