Part of that is thanks to the El Niño weather phenomenon. That often brings warmer-than-normal (but unsettled) weather to entire regions for long stretches of time. The Farmer's Almanac has released their detailed forecast for May, and they believe it will be the first month that Maine will see some consistency.

The Farmer's Almanac predicts that while the first week of May will be topsy turvy, the rest of the month should settle in with above-average temperatures for this time of year. The catch? It's going to be another precipitation-heavy month, with lots of rainy days and the potential for thunderstorms and downpours.
